CONCORD, NH – Deputy House Majority Leader Joe Sweeney (R-Salem) released the following statement after House Democratic Leader Alexis Simpson (D-Exeter) introduced a bill meant to put federal immigration officials at risk.
“It is ironic that after spending years trying to force everyone to wear masks, Democrats are so hysterical trying to take them away from law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to protect American citizens.” said Sweeney. “Over the last week, we have seen House Democrats praise gang members, illegal aliens, and mass murders who are in our country illegally, even going so far as to say that they are more welcome in New Hampshire than officers sworn to law and order.” He concluded, “It is no coincidence that agents are wearing masks, especially when they and their families are facing death threats and harassment from these same gang members, illegal aliens and extremist Democrats. As we see these officers targeted by radical leftists throughout the country, subject to doxxing, now is not the time to play these games.”
