House Leaders Congratulate Salem Rep. Named to Young Americans for Romney Leadership Team

CONCORD – House Speaker William O’Brien (R-Mont Vernon) and House Majority Leader Pete Silva (R-Nashua) released the following statement on Rep. Marilinda Garcia (R-Salem) who today was announced as a member of Mitt Romney’s Young Americans for Romney Leadership Team. Garcia is a co-chair of the House Republican Alliance, serves on the House Finance and House Legislative Administration committees and was identified as a “Rising Star” by the New Hampshire Union Leader as a member of the “40 Under Forty” 2011 class.  Garcia is also active in supporting conservative values among Hispanics and this year participated in a national campaign by GOPAC.

House Speaker William O’Brien

“Rep. Garcia is a leading voice for economic growth and has been active in shaping the policies that have brought New Hampshire back from the financial brink and created an environment to bring good new jobs here. She is a great role model and voice for young people nationally to remind them that economic prosperity such as creating a supportive business climate, working to provide an environment favorable to increasing the creation of private sector jobs, preventing over-regulation of business, and keeping government lean to minimize its burden on taxpayers and businesses is paramount to the future of their generation. We are proud that Rep. Garcia is participating in this conversation nationally and she will add great value to Romney’s presidential bid.”

House Majority Leader Pete Silva

“So many young people graduating from college right now are unable to find jobs because of Obama’s failed economic policies. I know Marilinda will carry the message to young voters that a Romney presidency of  limited government, fewer regulations on America’s businesses and fiscal discipline will help get our economy back on track and spur job creation so young people looking for jobs can find them. We’re thrilled to see Marilinda leading these efforts and proud of her work for New Hampshire and our country.”
