Democrats are Deeply Unserious About Protecting Children

House Criminal Justice Committee Vice-Chair Jennifer Rhodes (R-Winchester) released the following statement after a Hooksett Schools paraprofessional was arrested for the alleged possession of child pornography.

“It is disgusting to think that Hooksett Schools employed a child predator who was working around children as recently as June. This is completely unacceptable and I applaud the work of the Manchester Police in apprehending this child predator.”

Rhodes continued, “I can’t help but remember the work of my Democratic colleagues’ to shield child predators. In 2019, New Hampshire Democrats tried to strip funding for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the very same group which caught this repulsive pedophile.”

“To make matters worse, earlier this very year, Criminal Justice Democrats unanimously voted in committee against increasing penalties for sex trafficking children. It was only when Democrats were put on the spot on the House Floor that many members bucked the party, while over half of the party’s Criminal Justice members either still voted to shield pedophiles or refused to cast a vote at all.”

Rhodes concluded, “Democrats are not serious about protecting their children, and if not for Republicans, predators like this one would still be free to prey on the innocent.”
