Democrats Defend Illegal Aliens, Sex Offenders, and Convicted Criminals

CONCORD, NH – House Housing Committee Chairman Joe Alexander (R-Goffstown) released the following statement after Democrats tried and failed to obstruct the passage of HB 1499-FN, which allows for the eviction of illegal aliens, sex offenders, and other criminals that lie about their backgrounds when applying for housing.

“As we have said many times, if you are here illegally, you are not welcome in New Hampshire. Today, House Republicans passed HB 1499 to stand up for law, order, public safety, and every honest Granite Stater. If a tenant lies about their criminal record when applying for housing, it poses a risk to every other tenant, neighbor, and community member. We will not allow housing providers to be held hostage by criminals.”

“It is disappointing but not surprising Democrats once again taking a stand in the defense of illegal aliens, sex offenders, and convicted criminals, but not innocent, hardworking Granite Staters who simply want safe places to live without needing to fear for their lives.”
