CONCORD, NH- House Republicans passed a slate of new legislation adding security and transparency to New Hampshire’s elections. House Election Law Committee Chairman Ross Berry (R-Weare) released the following statement highlighting the bills.
“Unlike Democrats, House Republicans believe in safe, secure, and transparent elections. 84% of Americans support common sense voter ID laws, and today’s package of legislation strengthens those laws and adds a layer of security and transparency to absentee voting,” Chairman Berry said. “Democrats complain that any form of election security disenfranchises voters, but their fringe opposition displays just how out of touch they are with the people of the Granite State.”
Chairman Berry continued, “Democrats whine because they lack the ability to govern. They claim Republicans want to lock Granite Staters out of elections. This could not be further from the truth. Republicans started a program to ensure that financial hardship is not a barrier for New Hampshire citizens who wish to exercise their right to vote. These results show Republicans will always support safe and secure elections.”
