Concord, NH – House Special Committee on Housing Chairman Joe Alexander (R-Goffstown) released the following statement after Governor Chris Sununu signed House Bill 1202, relative to the issuance of permits for the alteration of driveways exiting onto public ways and relative to the definition of disability or special needs under the child care scholarship program, into law.
“As the Prime Sponsor of HB1202, I am grateful to Governor Chris Sununu for signing this common-sense bipartisan solution to take steps towards addressing the housing situation in New Hampshire. Granite Staters have spoken loud and clear that we need to make housing more accessible and affordable, and by ensuring that there are reasonable timelines for the issuance of driveway permits, we are removing red-tape barriers that are holding back the market.”
“New Hampshire stands at a critical juncture. It is imperative that we continue to work towards unleashing the power and potential of the free market to address this issue. These solutions will help to put more people on the path to homeownership and drive down costs for renters and owners all around New Hampshire.”
