Republican Sponsored Anti-Sanctuary Act Signed into Law

CONCORD, NH – House Deputy Majority Leader Joe Sweeney (R-Sweeney) released the following statement after Governor Ayotte signed HB 511 and SB 62, the Anti-Sanctuary Act.

“Today, Republicans stood with Governor Ayotte to take decisive action by signing the Anti-Sanctuary Act into law,” said Sweeney. “161 House and 8 Senate Democrats tried to obstruct this critical legislation, but Republicans stood strong in rejecting sanctuary policies and declaring that if you are in this nation illegally, you are not welcome in New Hampshire.”

“I thank all Republicans, whether they be in the House, Senate, or corner office. Unlike the radical, extreme, and dangerous open-border policies of New Hampshire Democrats, Republicans are prioritizing public safety and ensuring that we keep New Hampshire a land of law and order. Together, Republicans are delivering on our promise to put Granite Staters first and are not backing down from the fight.”
