Republicans Stand Against Dangerous Open-Border Policies

Deputy Majority Leader Joe Sweeney (R-Salem) released the following statement after House Democrats filed multiple Legislative Service Requests limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

“Democrats continue to defend disastrous open border policies. These policies do not work and pose a massive threat to the safety, security, and prosperity of our state and nation. Republicans in all legislative chambers of our State House remain united in slamming the door shut on open borders and to ensure that New Hampshire is a land of law and order,” Sweeney said.

Sweeney continued, “we have already banned sanctuary cities, prevented schools from being used as shelters for illegal immigrants, and allowed our local law enforcement agencies to work directly with ICE under the (287)g agreements. By rejecting these bad Democratic pieces of legislation, New Hampshire will remain committed to our Immigration and Customs Enforcement as they continue to make our state and country safe.”
