Republicans will Protect your Education Choices and Democrats will Not

Representative Michael Granger (R-Milton) released the following statement after House Republicans recommended CACR 24, a constitutional amendment to include the right of parents and legal guardians to direct the education of their children, Ought to Pass with Amendment.

“I submitted CACR 24 because I thought that the rights of parents to educate their children should be protected long into the future. I knew that Republicans support this idea. In committee, however, it became clear that Democrats oppose education freedom entirely. The votes speak for themselves: 100% of Republicans voted in favor. 100% of Democrats voted against it.” said Granger.

“You couldn’t get a clearer night and day difference. Not ONE Democrat broke with their party to support homeschool families, even though every last Republican was happy to. What are Granite Staters supposed to take away from this? Very simply, they should know that if you value the right to homeschool your kids, you need to support Republicans. If you prefer to send your kids to a private school or a public school or a charter school, this committee vote shows that Republicans will protect your education choices and Democrats will not.”
