CONCORD, NH – House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R-Auburn) released the following statement after the Senate introduced amendment #2026-2978s, establishing a revolving loan fund for the Claremont school district.
“From the beginning, House Republicans have made it clear that we need accountability and guardrails when it comes to school district spending sprees. Especially with Concord schools in a similar $5 million dollar hole and other school districts signaling similar financial woes, it is critical that we find solutions that will work across the board and force schools to balance their budgets. Only then will we curb the rampant and uncontrolled spending that landed us here in the first place.”
“House Republicans will fight to protect the taxpayers from bailing out the incompetence of Claremont schools. I appreciate the efforts of Claremont’s State Senator and look forward to working on a solution that will solve the issue in the long term, not a short-term fix that throws money at the problem and hopes it goes away.”
