CONCORD, NH – House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Vice-Chair Lisa Mazur (R-Goffstown) released the following statement after Governor Ayotte vetoed HB 1442, permitting classification of individuals based on biological sex under certain limited circumstances.
“While Governor Ayotte recently applauded the Supreme Court for ruling to protect women’s sports just two weeks ago, she missed an opportunity to protect those same women in locker rooms, bathrooms and prisons,” said Mazur. “It is difficult to reconcile the Governor’s decision to veto this common sense bill, especially as a male registered child sex offender invades women’s locker rooms just a mile away from her office.”
“House Republicans will continue to stand up for biological reality and the vast majority of Granite Staters who are sick and tired of their safety and liberty being hijacked by the delusion of radical gender ideology. This legislation will be back, and I hope the Governor takes some time to reconsider her position.”
