House Science, Technology, and Energy Chairman Michael Vose (R-Epping) released the following statement after House Democrats voted for a pair of bills meant to implement a Carbon Tax and impose several burdensome regulations on Granite Staters:
“Year after year, House Democrats push carbon taxes and costly regulations, making life even more unaffordable. Now, they’ve shown just how extreme their energy agenda is—not only driving up costs but doubling down on their anti-nuclear stance. Instead of supporting one of the cleanest, most reliable energy sources, Democrats would rather over-regulate and tax Granite Staters into submission while pretending it’s about the environment.” said Vose.
“Democrats have never met a tax hike they didn’t like, and their latest radical climate schemes prove it. Last time they had control, they raised or created over 100 taxes and fees. Republicans will continue to stand firm against Democrats’ reckless tax-and-spend policies and fight for affordable energy solutions.”
Background:
HB 106, establishing a commission to determine the monetary costs of climate damage to the state of New Hampshire and the best means of recouping such costs.
HB 526, establishing a climate change and damage division in the department of environmental services.
