CONCORD, NH – Ross Berry (R-Weare), prime sponsor of HB592, released the following statement after Governor Kelly Ayotte signed the comprehensive package of bail fixes into law.
“Republicans will not tolerate a revolving door of violent offenders being allowed to walk the streets and put our communities at risk. I applaud Governor Ayotte for signing this comprehensive package of fixes to New Hampshire’s bail system into law,” said Berry.
“Republicans worked diligently to ensure that we got this job done. While House Democrats opposed this legislation which will help to clean up our streets and keep criminals from terrorizing civilians, Republicans stood with law enforcement on both sides of the aisle to ensure that the safety of Granite Staters comes first.”
