House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R-Auburn) released the following statement after House Democrats opposed SB345, relative to youth employment. SB345 passed with the committee amendment on a vote of 185-152.
“House Democrats’ support stricter youth employment laws, and want to make employment laws stricter for 16 and 17 year olds than 14 and 15 year olds. Current laws are confusing for employers, employees, and parents. They are once again going too far and are seeking to legislate what time your kids should be going to bed. Students and parents are able to make the decisions that best fit their families without government intrusion.”
“As my daughter says, ‘My bedtime, my choice.’”
