CONCORD, NH- House Deputy Majority Leader Joe Sweeney (R-Salem) and House Ways and Means Chairman John Janigian (R-Salem) released the following statement, celebrating the House voting to adopt the Committee of Conference Report on HB155, the Small Business Relief Act.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our state,” Deputy Leader Sweeney began. “The Small Business Relief Act delivers real results for the people who keep this state running. This is how you make New Hampshire more affordable. By cutting taxes for the small businesses and hardworking Granite Staters that create jobs, we are unleashing the potential of the New Hampshire economy.
Chairman Janigian added, “The Small Business Relief Act is responsible policy that strengthens the New Hampshire Advantage and builds a pathway to prosperity for the businesses that make up the backbone of our economy. This act exempts nearly 4,500 small businesses from the BET. It also puts up to $9 million toward nursing homes and property tax relief. Finally, it creates a tax relief trigger that lowers the BET back toward its original 1993 rate. While Democrats vote for income taxes, House Republicans fight to protect the taxpayer, and the New Hampshire Advantage.”
