CONCORD, NH- House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R-Auburn) and Representative Keith Ammon (R-New Boston) released the following statement after the House passed HB1503-FN, exempting the developer, seller, or facilitator of the exchange of an open blockchain token from certain securities laws and adopting the Uniform Commercial Code relative to controllable electronic records:
Majority Leader Jason Osborne:
“I thank Representative Ammon, my fellow Republicans on the Commerce Committee, and all stakeholders for working to put New Hampshire in a position to take the lead on this revolutionary technology. HB1503 would attract investments and jobs by signaling to this rapidly growing industry that we are open for business. I look forward to working with Governor Sununu and the Senate to make this bill law.”
Representative Keith Ammon:
“Just last year, job postings related to blockchain and cryptocurrency technology exploded, growing by almost 400%. Our state is in a perfect position to take advantage of the booming investment in this industry and makes several important changes to state law. As lawmakers, we need to ensure that government does not interfere with the rapid innovation in digital assets and cryptocurrency. HB1503 is an opportunity for New Hampshire to become a leader in this industry and I look forward to continuing our work on this legislation.”
