CONCORD, NH– House Housing Committee Chairman Joe Alexander (R-Goffstown) released the following statement after the New Hampshire State Senate passed HB577, relative to modifying the definition of ADUs.
“I want to thank my colleagues in the Senate for agreeing that Accessory Dwelling Units are an important tool in the fight to increase housing supply around the Granite State. We hear testimony that legalizing in-law apartments will legalize multigenerational housing options, allow families to stay together, and open doorways to more home healthcare options. I was proud to sponsor this legislation and urge Governor Ayotte to sign this critical legislation to provide relief in the housing market,” said Alexander.
“Expanding housing was a key pillar in House Republicans’ majority winning Contract with New Hampshire. Increasing housing continues to be a top priority for Granite Staters and Republican State Representatives are ensuring that we adopt an ‘all of the above’ approach to get the job done.”
