Concord, NH: New Hampshire House Speaker Sherman Packard (R-Londonderry) issued the following statement after the Department of Administrative Services released its revenue projections for FY22-FY23 showing positive revenue estimates that are $283.8 million over plan:
“Critics of our business-friendly tax policies alleged that cutting taxes for small businesses would put a hole in our state budget. On the contrary, New Hampshire’s economy is doing better than ever, and these revenue numbers are a demonstration of that. We are looking at a possible record budget surplus, due to less spending and historic tax cuts across the board. This is a positive move in the right direction and one we hope to repeat. The citizens of New Hampshire can rest assured that we will invest that surplus in a way that further improves our economy and quality of life.”
