House Reaffirms Support for First in the Nation Status

Concord, NH- House Election Law Chairman Ross Berry (R-Manchester) released the following statement after the House passed SCR 1, affirming the general court’s support for New Hampshire’s first in the nation primary, on a vote of 356-6.

“Today the New Hampshire House stood united against the Democratic National Committee, or any committee that attempts an assault on our primary. The First in the Nation primary is a fundamental right in the Granite State. We will not bend to the will of private national organizations that seek to undermine our state’s autonomy or threaten our voting rights.”

“Unfortunately five Democrats voted today to represent their party bosses instead of Granite Staters. It is a shame they abandoned their constituents and voters now know where their priorities lie.”
