Rep. Niki Kelsey Comments on Passage of Opt-In Survey

Concord, NH- Rep. Niki Kelsey (R-Bedford) released the following statement after the NH House passed HB1639, relative to the youth risk behavior survey in schools, on a vote of 183-164.

“The Youth Risk Behavior Survey is a survey that is vitally important and one that generally receives good feedback in our communities. However, every other non-academic survey given to our students is opt-in by parents. This survey should be no different. Some parents find the content in some of the questions objectionable and parents should have the same say in the Youth Risk Behavior survey as any other. I applaud the vote taken by the New Hampshire House today to give parents more choice in their children’s education.”
